Business Card (8.5×11 Layout):
Business Card (Large Layout):
Description: Create a logo and design stationery for it. Create a letterhead and business card.
Process : I thought a business that had a logo I wanted to redesign. After crossing a business, I sketched out possible designs for my letterhead and business cards. I created my first drafts and had them printed and critiqued. After critiqued, I made a few tweaks to be more aligned and have a better flow. I wanted to keep my logo and designs simple and have and minimalist look–more like a modern feel.
I worked in AdobeIllustrator to create them logo. After creating the logo, I worked in InDesign to create the letterhead and business card.
I used skills taught to me in class. I learned how to make half a shape and then how to flip and copy the half shape to create a whole (i.e. the cocoa bean icon). I applied contrast by making “Cocoa” thinner and making “Bean” more bold.
Message: I wanted to represent the company by creating stationery that says what the company is. When you look at the logo, I want to convey the sense of drink/bakery.
Audience: Those who love bakeries and like environments that are modern and more up-to-date.
Top Thing Learned: How to do a watermark and incorporate that into stationary.
Color scheme and color names: Complementary color scheme (Blue & Brown).
