Description:A color full-bleed event ad to promote a fundraiser using only Microsoft Word and a scanner.
Process: I scanned an imagine that fit with my overall message. I then chose a color scheme based off my audience and the image. I sketched and created possible layouts and then created a draft. I made the “children’s hospital” and the date & time stick out the most and played with shape and alignment. After creating a draft, it went through two critiques. I then choose what needed to be changed and created my final event ad. Programs used: Microsoft word, Epson scanner & PDF2JPG.com.
Message: There’s a fundraiser going on for the children’s hospital and I wanted to advertise that this is going to be a fun event for the whole family.
Audience: Aimed at those with children–families.
Color scheme and color names: I used the Self Complementary color scheme. I used the colors blue, gold, & brick.
Top Thing Learned: How to scan an image and work with a color scheme.

Scanned images used, sources, original sizes, location of scanner used: I scanned an image from the Ensign, Nov. 2015 Conference Edition (Page 87). The image was originally 7.5×4.3″, but I scanned it in at a quality of 300ppi using the Epson scanner in the Spori building. I was then able to make the image larger.
